Open face helmets are a great choice for the more stylish of you out there - they also tend to be more comfortable and keep you cooler in warm temperatures. While wearing an open face helmet, you won't run into problems of having to remove your helmet for the petrol station or to communicate with people. These helmets also tend to have a very wide and unobstructed field of view, which allows you to be more aware of your surroundings, which can be especially useful when riding in cities.

Open face helmets have many advantages over other styles, but there are also a few downsides to think about when considering what motorbike helmet is best for you.

The main disadvantage would be the slightly reduced protection if you were to be in an accident as there is no protection around the chin area and there is a risk it could fall off in some instances. Some riders feel like the positives outway the negatives, but in all cases, you need to make sure you choose a helmet that is right for you.
